Family Therapy

The Family Dynamic

Each family member contributes to the dynamic of the family, regardless if they live together. Each person’s challenges directly impact the whole family.

Families are made up of people with different perceptions, ideas, and personalities. If any of these are unhealthy and/or clash, the whole family unit can suffer.

Imagine this…

A child, speaking honestly and directly to her parents about the stresses of her life – how she’s feeling – effectively expressing what she’s going through. Her parents respond with empathy, love, and understanding.

They’re going through a difficult time – but they’re supporting each other. They’re communicating – working through it – TOGETHER.

If only your family could be that way.

When children or teenagers are going through tough times, how their parents react and respond can either help, or unintentionally hinder the situation. Can either draw them close – or push them further away.

When parents and caregivers can learn to respond in a way that helps them feel supported – helps them learn from their mistakes, the whole family dynamic can change.

It may seem like the impossible dream, but it’s not.

Working together, we can create healthy boundaries and reduce conflict.

But you’ve already tried everything.

As a parent, you want the best for your children regardless of their ages.

You’ve tried to think of ways to help them feel happier again, but you’re at a loss.

The harder you try, the further they push you away.

You’re not even sure how it got to this point, but you’ve got to do something. Now.

Therapy WILL help.

Family therapy can help your whole family learn how to communicate more effectively. Each member of the family can express their feelings in a safe environment while learning to understand the other members.

Each person’s needs will be addressed as well as how they influence the family overall.

As a group, you will determine the goals you have as we move toward change.

Your family will learn and utilize new skills to help transform into the family structure you’ve envisioned.

In therapy, we can work together to increase empathy for each other, improve communication, build back that lost trust, and repair severed bonds.

Family therapy is for everyone.

You don’t have to wait for a crisis.

Family therapy is not just for the incohesive family unit. It can offer tremendous help to even the strongest family when someone is going through a hard time.

No family is perfect. There is always room for growth, increased empathy, and better communication.
